The Washington Association of Professional Anthropologists is recruiting for field researchers to conduct interviews, focus groups, and participant observation in Virginia.  We are open to students, new anthropologists and experienced anthropologists alike.  Are you teaching an anthropology course?  Consider having your students participate in a portion of this two-year study (2018-2020).  Training is mandatory to participate in this research (although senior anthropologists may request to skip day two of the training). The trainings will cover:

  • Overview of study aims
  • Research methodology
  • Background literature
  • Staff openings (note:  none of these are paid positions)
  • Giving informed consent and ethics in research
  • Tips and role playing interviews, focus groups, and participant observation
  • Safety in the field

Refreshments will be provided.  Anyone interested in participating on the field team is encouraged to attend.  Please RSVP.  For more information contact Project Manager and Co-PI, Victoria Danner at vxdanner@smcm.edu
